Fair working conditions

Fair working conditions at DÆHLIE Sportswear

The apparel supply chain includes both automated and labor-intensive stages, particularly in assembly and raw material processing. Globally, the industry employs millions of workers, the majority of whom are women. Ensuring fair, safe, and respectful working conditions across this network is essential to Dæhlie’s operations.

We work exclusively with partners who uphold high labor standards and respect human rights. All direct and nominated suppliers must comply with our Code of Conduct, founded on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

The Code of Conduct defines our minimum requirements for labor rights, working hours, wages, health and safety, and environmental responsibility.

Our sourcing office in Shanghai maintains close, ongoing dialogue with suppliers through daily contact and regular site visits. We believe long-term partnerships create the foundation for responsible business. Many of our suppliers have worked with Dæhlie for several years, allowing for mutual trust, knowledge exchange, and progressive improvements in social and environmental standards.

We monitor compliance through third-party social audits using the Amfori BSCI standard, supplier self-assessments, and continuous improvement processes. Dæhlie has been a member of Amfori since 2014, utilizing their global framework to identify challenges, verify performance, and support development across our supplier base. In addition to auditing, Amfori provides insight into regional risks and connects us with peer companies sharing the same suppliers – strengthening our collective impact.

Dæhlie is also a member of Ethical Trade Norway – an organization that promotes sustainable business practices protecting people, animals, and the environment. Through Ethical Trade Norway, we engage in training, working groups, and industry collaboration, benefiting from expert knowledge on responsible supply chain management. Our membership, established in 2014, reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement and transparent business practices.

Transparency remains central to our approach. We disclose our assembling and key material suppliers through the Open Supply Hub – a collaborative, publicly accessible platform for global supply chain mapping and accountability. By sharing this information, we aim to increase visibility, encourage best practice, and strengthen trust across our industry.
