It can be challenging to know which jacket will give you the best experience while cross-country skiing. With our jacket guide, we'll help you find the right jacket for your needs.
We've organized our jackets into three categories. Read through the guide to find the right cross-country skiing jacket tailored to you and your needs.
Consider which heart rate zone you're most often in. Higher heart rates requires a jacket that has higher breathability than insulation level, while lower intensities require more warmth. This way, you'll find the model that's optimal for your needs.

Frequently asked questions about cross-country ski jackets
How do I choose the right jacket?
Start by looking at what type of sessions you do most. If you ski with a high heart rate and train hard, choose a jacket in the Race and High Intensity category with maximum breathability. If you're mostly training at a steady pace, Training and Moderate Intensity is suitable. If you prefer lower intensities or need extra warmth on cold days, the Warm Jackets for Colder Days category is the right choice.
How do I find the right fit?
All Dæhlie jackets provide excellent freedom of movement. The fit is close to the body to reduce air resistance but may vary somewhat with material thickness. Some prefer a tighter fit, others a looser one. Use the size guide on the product pages to find the size that fits you best.
What environments do I train in most?
If you often ski in the mountains or in weather that changes quickly, a jacket with a hood is a good choice. If you train mostlay on stadium tracks or sheltered trails, a hood is less important.
How does temperature affect my choice?
The colder it is, the more insulation you need. But remember that the higher the intensity, the lighter the jacket should be. A good rule of thumb is that you should always feel slightly cold at the start of a ski tour – then you know the jacket functions optimally when intensity increases.
What do the materials mean?
Most Dæhlie jackets have a softshell front, which both protects against wind and transports moisture effectively. The thickness determines how much insulation you get. Some models combine softshell with wool, which adds warmth, regulates temperature naturally, and transports moisture efficiently.
Why do some jackets cost more than others?
All Dæhlie jackets maintain very high quality. Price reflects the degree of technical optimization. The most advanced jackets are developed with extra focus on breathability, durability, fit, and weather protection – tailored for skiers who train at high intensity and demand maximum performance from their gear.
Our design team constantly pushes the boundaries of what a cross-country ski jacket can be. When you choose our top models, you get the latest in innovation and the best materials – developed to deliver reliable performance, session after session.
